FOOD & NUTRITION
At SBM, we are implementing comprehensive programs to ensure improvement in nutrition security, nutrition, and health status of the population. Our Food Security programmes are in alignment with the definition of 'Food Security by the World Food Summit in 1996; as a situation in which “all people, at all times, have access to sufficient, safe and nutritious food to meet their dietary needs and food preferences for an active and healthy life. Our survey department works on the evolving data from the ground to understand the real situation and advocate in implementing evidence-based intervention programmes to improve food and nutrition security of the underprivileged, ensure that the ongoing food supplementation programmes provide sufficient food to meet the energy/nutrients gap in vulnerable segments of the population, and nationalize and improve ongoing nutrition interventions aimed at prevention, early detection and effective management of under- and overnutrition.
We provide meals to the needy in partnership with our food partners.
All the food packets are hygienically packed and distributed by our volunteers to the beneficiaries.
Ration Kits Distribution
We pack the essentials grocery items and distribute them to the neediest. Our beneficiaries are the marginalized and underprivileged urban slum dwellers who don't have access to food due to socio, political and economic vulnerabilities.
Each Kit contains 14 items, weighs an average of 50 Kg, and can cater to a family of 4 with at least 1 month.
